Our Credo

our first responsibility is to the people that we serve:

  • The children, young people, women, men, people with disabilities, migrants, refugees, and others who often live in resource-poor communities.
  • Our service must always be driven by compassion, empathy, and love.
  • We must leverage and improve on our innovation to multiply our impact and reach.
  • The people we serve must feel hope, respect, and love.
  • We must constantly remind them that THEY ARE NOT ALONE.

our second responsibility is to the good people who work with us :

  • Our full-time and part-time employees, our interns, our field workers, and volunteers
  • We must have a cultureof support, friendly enviroment, and the opportunity to thrive at work.
  • They must feel safe, secure and a sense of purpose.
  • Management and supervisors must be qualified, organized, proactive, respectful, and fair.
  • Our system must always be merit-based
  • Employees must have opportunity for suggestions, complaints, initiative, learning and advancement for those who qualify and deliver on their role.
  • We must treat every worker WITH DIGNITY AND RESPECT.

our THIRD responsibility is to OUR MANAGEMENT:

  • Our Board Members, Executives, and Directors must be people of character, intelligence, talent, education, work ethic, and unquestionable emphathy for employees and people we serve.
  • Our management must embrace equitable partnership withb other non-profits, companies, academic institutions, and other organizations to support and ACCELERATE OUR NOBLE WORK.

our fourth responsibility is to our community, country and continent:

  • We must respect and meaningfully contribute to the communities that we live and work in.
  • We must listen to, learn from, work, and partner with the communities we serve.
  • We must embrace innovative thinking, excellent implementation, and a sustainable approach in our advocacy, research, and innovative programs by pursuing better social and health policy.
  • We must abide by universal ethical principles as we create a better world.

our fifth and last responsibility is to OUR funders and financial partners:

  • We must maintain good communication, professional and fiduciary relationships with them.
  • We must consider every contribution as an investment, and every penny must be accounted for.
  • Our work must be innovative, evidence-based, and conducted in a timely manner.
  • We must constantly embrace transformative solutions, learn from our mistakes, and create adventurous programs to build the evidence base and improve the lives of billions of people.
  • We are committed to fulfilling all our duties to the best of our abilities by God’s grace.
