Who we are

"We fight social injustice by creating access to quality healthcare information and services in the world's most underserved region in Africa"

Slum and Rural Health Initiative is a nonprofit organization that started operations in 2017 and is officially registered in Nigeria, Ethiopia, and the Gambia that improves access to healthcare information and services in Africa, especially in vulnerable and underserved communities using the tools of advocacy, research, and technology. We are a ‘multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, social scientists information technology experts, researchers, graphic designers, and social entrepreneurs who are passionate about changing the sad narrative of healthcare information and service delivery in Nigeria, Ethiopia, and other parts of Africa.

The mission of SRHIN is to improve access to health information and services by connecting health professionals to the populace through advocacy, technology, and research so they can make the right health decisions.

We envision an Africa where healthcare is available to everyone, everywhere.

Our Approach

We leverage the energy, passion, and creativity of young people to promote evidence-based, innovative, and community-led projects. With over 27 States Coordinators in Northern and Southern Nigeria, we have made an impact in the lives of over 1 million people who live in underserved settings.
