Project Features
We leverage an innovative task-shifting approach. It is an AI-powered, community-led and digitally-driven project that takes mental health information and services to the last mile – IDP camps and underserved communities.
AI-Powered
At the heart of our innovation is an AI conversational model — a digital companion designed to listen, comfort, and guide. It extends therapy beyond physical spaces, offering empathetic, on-demand support in 3 different local languages (Hausa, Yoruba, and Pidgin) to young people in displaced communities. Through technology, we’re reimagining what connection and healing can look like — turning AI into a bridge for mental wellness and hope.
Our Friendship Tent
The Friendship Tent is the world’s flagship safe space to promote the mental health of young people living in internally displaced persons camps. Community members trained by mental health experts conduct regular therapy sessions for young people in the Friendship Tent — re-creating the safe place in their minds and world.
Task-Shifting
9 out of every 10 mental illness go untreated due to lack of psychiatrist in low and middle-income countries like Nigeria. We are training community members to give mental health interventions to young internally displaced persons, We are empowering ordinary people to care for others
Digitally Driven
As a flagship tech-driven and community-led mental health solution to internally displaced persons in Northern Nigeria, we leverage on digital technology via SimbiHealth Mobile application to ensure that the mental health information is available to everyone, everywhere.
