We spoke with Emmanuel about his experience volunteering with SRHIN, his favorite projects and life philosophy.

Hi Emmanuel, when did you start volunteering with SRHIN?

I joined in September 2021.

Is there a specific reason you chose to volunteer with SRHIN of all the NGOs?

I have a passion for reaching out to the underprivileged/under-served communities, social media, public health advocacy, and service to HUMANITY in general, and SRHIN is helping in making that a reality.

That’s interesting. You currently serve as SRHIN’s Borno State Coordinator. Can you explain your role in detail?

My roles include ensuring program quality in Borno State, implementation and supervision in accordance with SRHIN’s mission and vision, and alignment/collaboration with other donor NGOs.

What is it you love most about your role?

Capacity, leadership and human development.

Are there challenges you have experienced as Borno State Coordinator?

Yes. Logistics.

What is your favorite thing about volunteering with SRHIN?

Taking healthcare to under-served communities.

What has been your favorite project or task since volunteering at SRHIN?

The outreach in CAN refugee/IDPs camp, Maiduguri, Borno State. It was really heartwarming to see the appreciation and smiles on the faces of the Internally Displaced Person.

Emmanuel, if you could describe yourself in one word, what would it be?

I would say, Humanitarian!

Does this humanitarian have a life philosophy?

Yes, I do. It goes ‘while we die here; Let’s live.’
