SRHIN Annual Impact Report

Message from our Founder

It has been an incredible year of learning and impactful progress for us at Slum and Rural Health Initiative. We have continued to save lives, improve livelihoods and transform communities by meaningfully engaging local community members, stakeholders and the people we serve as part of the solution and not as “passive beneficiaries”.

From our Brave Heart project that promoted mental health to thousands of people living in internally displaced persons (IDP) or migrant camps in Northern Nigeria to our SIMBIHealth sexual and reproductive health and rights project that reached hundreds of thousands of young people, I am so proud of our achievements in 2022. More importantly, in 2022, our projects reached the most diverse groups of people living in marginalized settings. For instance, our The HANDS Project reached people with disabilities, our Communities Against Sexual Violence (CASV) project empowered teenage girls and women in IDP camps in Northern Nigeria, our STREEM project reached street children and our Youth for COVAX project targeted marginalized youths.

Explore our portfolio of recent and long-lasting projects dedicated to providing meaningful, sustainable solutions, aimed at bringing high-quality healthcare services and vital information directly to the residents of marginalized slums and underserved communities in Africa.
