About the project: Slum and Rural Health Initiative is leading Nigeria’s community-led research on Mpox (formerly called
“Monkeypox”), a re-emerging infectious disease which was declared as a disease of Public Health Emergency of International Concern in 2022 by the World Health Organization (WHO). We are working together with reputable partners in Nigeria and in Canada to provide community and granular insight into understanding community members awareness and perception about Mpox virus as well as on the ‘future’ Mpox vaccine.
