Call for Field Researchers

Brief Job Summary:

The Slum and Rural Health Initiative (SRHIN) is calling out for motivated, engaging field researchers to collect quantitative and qualitative data for CAMPS project. The deadline to apply through our job portal application is 19th May, 2023.

The Organization

Slum and Rural Health Initiative is a nonprofit organization that started operations in 2017 and is officially registered in Nigeria, Ethiopia, and the Gambia that improves access to healthcare information and services in Africa, especially in vulnerable and underserved communities using the tools of advocacy, research, and technology. We are a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, social scientists, information technology experts, researchers, graphic designers, and social entrepreneurs who are passionate about changing the sad narrative of healthcare information and service delivery in Nigeria, Ethiopia, and other parts of Africa.

Project Details

CAMP Nigeria is a consortium of the following institutions: Slum and Rural Health Initiative Network (SRHIN), Nigeria Institute for Medical Research (NIMR), Institute of Human Virology ,Nigeria (IHVN), Maryland Global Initiative Corporation (MGIC), University of Ilorin(UNILORIN), which will work alongside with the Canadian partners on Characterizing Transmission Dynamics and Evaluating Medical Countermeasures to inform the Clinical and Public Health Response to Monkeypox (MPOX) in Canada and Nigeria.

Job Responsibilities

  • Successful applicants will be involved in the compilation, analysis and writing of manuscripts
  • Successful applicants will assist with data collection and analysis, i.e. carry out data collection and management
  • Conduct analyses of both qualitative and quantitative data
  • Contribute to writing of research briefs
  • Keen knowledge of infectious diseases.

Eligibility/Requirements

Mandatory Requirement
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Prior experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection
  • Analytical and critical thinking
  • Local language speaker
  • Ability to work as part of a team, flexibility, adaptability, and patience.
Optional
  • Previous work experience in a similar project or in a non-government organization/s is an advantage.
